Unique Douglas Fir Log Bench for Living Landscapes

Douglas Fir Log Sourced to Craft a Bench for Living Landscapes

We’re often asked to supply timber for projects that are displayed at Royal Horticultural Society shows, notably Chelsea and Hampton Court.

Tec Evans, of Living Lanscapes, asked us to source a Douglas Fir log to make a bench designed by Rae Wilkinson. Living Landscapes are an award winning Landscape and Design company in the UK.

The log needed to be at least 3.7 metres long and have a diameter of 68 cm. With the heritage we have in timber, we were in luck, and through our contacts managed to source a perfect douglas fir log locally. We squared the log and cut it to length, allowing Living Landscapes to finish the bench to reflect the finer details.

The result is simple but stunning, and really shows the beauty of the timber. Crafting a bench from a douglas fir log was a great design choice, with the timber being naturally durable, easy to work with, beautiful and very strong.

This was simply a wonderful project to be involved with.
