Lightweight and requiring minimal maintenance, Eastern White Cedar timber shingles are a striking and cost-effective choice for roofing and cladding. They can bring a ‘New England look’ to a property and one of their advantages is that they have no tannins, which can cause discolouration over time.
Sourced from Canada, our Eastern White Cedar shingles are sawn, random width, flat/edge grains, with a chamfered butt.

Price per bundle - £178.00 inc VAT. Each bundle contains approx. 2.18m2 coverage with a 120mm exposure.
Size
Length - 400mm.
Thickness - Approx. 8-10mm at the chamfered end of the butt.
Widths - Shingles are supplied in random widths and the packs calculated for a given coverage. They should be used ‘as they come’, packs should not be sorted for widths. Eastern white cedar shingles are generally 75mm to 320mm wide.
Coverage
Each bundle contains 18.2 linear metres of elements (laid side by side).
1 bundle on a roof with a 3-ply lay up will cover - 2.18m2. Roof elevation - minimum of 14 degrees.
1 bundle on a wall with a 2-ply lay up will cover - 3.27m2.
Roof: 3-ply lay up with a 120mm exposure. Wall: 2-ply layup with a 180mm exposure.
Ridges are available to suit on request.
Expected Life
General life expectancy is 20 - 35 years (Southern elevations being the most hostile).
